I qualified as a A.D.I in March 2007 thanks to Paul’s patience, understanding, dedication and professionalism. I passed parts 1, 2 and 3 of the exam at my first attempt. As a result of my success, due to Paul’s training I would highly recommend the services he offers.

Michael Credland A.D.I (STREET-CRED DRIVER TUITION).

I totally enjoyed my training with Paul Gillyon and earlier his team in Doncaster. He is very likable and committed to getting the most from us in the best possible way with his knowledge and expertise.

I passed all of my exams first time with Paul’s help and felt the move to carry out the training ‘locally’ was a good one for me personally as I didn’t have so much travelling and was fresher from the outset, plus I was actually training in the area where I would be teaching, so it gave me an insight into areas where I could take my pupils.

I had my moments when I had to have time out due to an illness but Paul welcomed me back with open arms and got me going again.

Paul manages to balance hard work with fun and even now I know I can call on him if I have a problem and have on a few occasions.

I think of Paul not just as my mentor but also a friend.

Throughout my whole training programme with Paul I would say I have never met a person so dedicated to their job. Nothing was too much trouble for him, he is a very kind, professional and patient tutor. I always came away from my lessons feeling as though I had learnt everything I would need to do my job in the same manner, and always with a smile! I would say this is one of the reasons that I passed first time and I wouldn’t hesisate to recommend Paul to anyone who wanted to become an A.D.I.

I met Paul in January 06 for my on road session training as an ADI. After driving for over 20 years as a ‘professional’, I was not looking forward to having someone sat next to me analysing my ability, but Paul soon put me at my ease. From the first meeting, Paul made me feel very welcome and it was as if we had been mates for years.

Paul made it very clear from the start what was involved and what it was like being a Driving Instructor. The training delivered was very professional and tailored to my needs. Every training session had a lesson plan to get me thinking about my own driving to make sure it prepared me for my part 2 ‘ability to drive’, but in doing so he also got me to think about the skill involved so that I could prepare for the part 3 ‘ability to instruct’. I qualified as an ADI within 9 months of meeting Paul, may have done it quicker if I had of been more confident and not delayed my part 3 exam.

After qualifying, my dreaded check test soon followed. I got in contact with Paul who was more than happy to sit in the back of one of my lessons to get an overview of my real ability to instruct a real student, and pointed me in the right direction for my check test. Although I had only been an ADI for a short while, with Paul’s help, I managed to achieve a grade 5. I will definitely be in contact with Paul when my next check test is due to help me to reach that magic 6.

Paul went beyond the call of duty in his lessons to ensure that the day’s lesson had been successful and was always ready to offer extra guidance or sessions if needed, nothing was ever too much trouble. If you want to succeed in passing your training to become an ADI, I would recommend Paul Gillyon.

If you want to be the best you can, you need to train with the best. When it comes to instructor training the best you can get is Paul Gillyon. Paul is 100 percent dedicated to helping you achieve your goals with a great fund of knowledge, experience and wit. I had been a professional driver for over 25 years, Paul soon showed me I didn’t know nearly as much as I thought I did! Training with Paul is informative, enlightening and above all, fun. I know without any shadow of a doubt that without Paul’s professional and planned approach to teaching, this old dog wouldn’t have learned a lot of new tricks and would never have resulted in me achieving my goal of becoming an ADI. It is testament to Paul’s ability that I am now doing a job I thoroughly enjoy.

Paul has provided me with ADI training for Part’s 2 & 3. He has very high standards and is extremely thorough in his lessons ensuring that we have the relevant knowledge and understanding of all the aspects that he has covered. I have really enjoyed my training especially the fun that we have when Paul is in “role” as a beginner!

I would like to give a BIG thanks to Paul for all his help and support throughout my ‘Driving Instructor’ training!! Paul kept the training at a pace to suit my learning & varied the sessions to keep my motivation. When work commitments resulted in me not being able to train during a week, Paul did not hesitate to work Saturdays for me (which not many trainers would have done) and of which I’m very appreciative. Paul always made himself available via e-mail/phone etc so I could call whenever I needed help with my study. Paul was very friendly, patient and when I failed my first Part 3 test, I think he was more upset than I was! Paul is very dedicated to his work & takes failures personally. He gains his job satisfaction from pupils being successful and this can be seen from his style of training. Thanks again Paul, I have already recommended you to friends and family

Paul Gillyon’s reputation in Hull, York and surrounding areas speaks for itself and is more than well deserved, his enthusiasm and passion for instructor training is contagious. Nothing is too much trouble for Paul, he would always be just a phone call away if I needed any support outside of our training sessions. My part 2 and 3 sessions with paul were fantastic, he wont accept anything but the best, a bit of a perfectionist but that was great as I am too. The fact that I achieved a first time pass at every stage of the ADI tests is solely down to paul and proves that he is a simply outstanding trainer. On my Part 3 exam I was able to achieve a grade 5/6 and was apparently so close to the illusive grade 6/6. Just a couple of sentences short in my instruction.. my own fault.. Paul had drilled into me the very thing I forgot to mention. Nevertheless I am extremely proud of my 5/6 which I am told is still not that common, myself and Paul put in a lot of hard work and it paid off. I will definitely be returning to Paul for all my future CPD and would recommend him to anyone.

Thank You Paul!

Paul has given me advice on doing my part 1 for my ADI. With his knowledge, guidance and his patience I was able to pass my part 2 with confidence. Whilst training on my part 3, Paul has not only trained me to what I believe is a higher standard than I need, I have also had a lot of fun. I would recommend Paul to anyone. I have enjoyed my time with Paul with all he has to offer.

Paul Gillyon is a professional and honest guy with bags of enthusiasm and knowledge to make your A.D.I training the best that’s around. I have passed both my part 1 and part 2 training with Paul at the first attempt. Each session with Paul was always fun and laid back whilst he always kept so professional in what he was teaching you. Thank you Paul for all that you have done for me and for been at the end of the phone no matter what time it was for your valuable advice on which i will always remember.
Stuart Merrylees – 23 Feb 2009

Paul Gillyon is a top trainer and a top bloke. He has trained me for my ADI part 2 and 3 tests witch i passed 1st time both with excellent marks. His teaching methods are second to none, leaving no stone unturned in the quest to make me as good as he possibly could. We also had some good fun on the way. Many thanks Paul, Keep up the good work roads would not be as safe without you.

Paul came recommended to me by a mutual friend and I can say with no hesitation that I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to learn how to drive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with him and felt as if I had the best preperation going into my final tests. He was exremely patient, kind, and easy going which put me at ease right from the very first lesson.

I was very pleased to have passed on my first attempt after only a couple of months of tutoring. This was in no doubt due to Paul’s professionalism and dedication to helping me as a student become the best driver I could be.

Paul comes very highly recommended.

From the very first phone call I had with Paul I knew he was the right man to train with. Even on the phone he sounds enthusiastic and genuinely excited to be teaching someone the ability to instruct or I suppose now learn to drive as well.

I remember the day I first sat in the car on my part 2 I was quite nervous to see how good my actual driving was. Paul put me at ease from the first moment and we had a fantastic day. And I remember every day I left with a smile on my face feeling I had learnt more and got closer to the level needed to pass the part 2. (which i passed first time, perfectly) Thanks to Paul.!!!!!

I always knew that if I had a question to ask no matter how trivial I felt it was Paul would always give the best possible answer and a little bit more . And it is those ‘little bit more’ situations that show just how dedicated Paul is. He doesn’t just do his job because it is his job he does it because he wants YOU to pass he wants YOU to be the best you possibly can be. And those qualities are really outstanding in a man who is going to teach you a skill for life.

In the part 3 training it would be fair to say I was a little lazy in preparing my briefs. And eventually it came to the day where I just let myself down but not only myself but Paul too. And I went away thinking how can I actually do that , Paul put in so much effort and I wasn’t delivering. But all that was needed was some encouragement from Paul and a nudge in the right direction and I came back the week after refreshed and ready to impress.

So to summarise I have to say Paul is a man you can have 100% confidence in to get you ready not only for your tests but for your life as a driving instructor or new driver. I know that in those Lazy times it was Paul’s little encouraging words and also the fact I knew he cared that drove me to pushing myself. Which is just what I needed.

I have to say on the day I passed my part 3 I was quite sad in the fact I would not be spending my days with Paul as I really did enjoy them.

Choosing Paul to coach is you is definitely the right choice to make and I know many other Instructors would say the exact same thing.

I first meet Paul when I signed up for the ADI course back in November 2008, Paul was working for BSM at the time, from my first conversation with Paul I knew that I was in safe hands he just oozes enthusiasm and is very professional in his work. After a long 3 month wait for my CRB check I finally started my part 2 sessions with Paul but after just one session unfortunately for me Paul left BSM to pursue his career working for himself, I later went on to pass my part 1 and part 2 first time. I conducted my 40 hours with BSM as I had already paid in advance however after the 40 hours were finished I decided to take the opportunity to go on a trainee license with Bill Plant Ltd as BSM had no positions available for me and I later lost the 20 hours extra training I needed as a PDI with BSM, To cut a very long story short this is were Paul comes back in. After first meeting Paul in 2008 I decided to conduct my further 20 hours with him. I think its fair to say the first time I got back in the car with Paul I wasn’t were I needed to be in terms with passing my part 3, I was lacking in confidence and there were holes in my ability to instruct, needless to say after a few sessions Paul installed both confidence and ability into me to the point I really enjoyed our instructor/pupil role play exercises and this helped me in my everyday experiences as a PDI. The day finally came for my part 3 test and I was ready, a few last minute nerves but Paul soon sorted that with a good session prior to my test and a friendly chat over a cup of tea. With the help of Paul I passed with a score of 5/5 and I couldn’t have done it without him, Thanks Paul I really mean that and I look forward to working with you in the future conducting mock test on my pupils and my check test work. Anybody reading this who is thinking of becoming an ADI Paul is definitely the right man for the job he will get you there if you are willing to “work your socks off.”

After going it alone, I contacted Paul to assess my tuition, Paul was really friendly, putting my pupil at ease, and offered sound advice and guidence.
Having passed all parts of the ADI test with Paul I would not hesitate to tell anyone to become an ADI with him.

I first met Paul in 2004 when i was learning to drive after a few failed attempts with another instructor i had lost all of my confidence, So i decided i should try a different school i went with BSM because they are well known i got Paul as my instructor and from the offset i felt a lot more confident about my driving and i noticed the difference Paul was a lot more thorough and left no stone unturned so when it came to my test i passed with flying colours.
This left a lasting impression so 5 years later when i had been stuck in a mundane job i decided to have a career change and become an instructor myself there was only one person i wanted and trusted to train me and that was Paul.
From the very first session i had total faith in Paul it is obvious he is passionate about his work and really enjoys it and that rubs off.
I wasn’t very confident i was up to the job at first but Paul soon changed my mind with kind words and lots of help and encouragement.
I really enjoyed the part 2 sessions with lots of fun but also lots of learning. He taught me how to tweak my driving just to make it that little bit better and showed me how to improve on certain things which not only helped me pass my part 2 with ease but also made me a better driver.
Part 3 training was challenging but also fun i really enjoyed it and from day one Pauls enthusiasm made me want to work really hard to become great ADI .With his help and guidance i put everything i had into achieving this. Paul is always there if you need any guidance or advice which is a real help especially if you are having a bad day. After all the hard work Paul and i put in to the training i got a 5/6 on my part 3 which both Paul and i was very pleased with.
Now i am working alongside Paul and still enjoying his great work ethic and very kind and helpful nature.
Look forward to working together for a very long time to come.

I met Paul in February 2010 whilst looking for an instructor trainer. He was more than happy to meet me for a coffee to establish that we would get on well, although this was more for my benefit than Paul’s. I booked with him immediately as I knew we would get on great. His guidance with Part 1 was perfect, advising on the best books to buy and would even get them for me if easier as well as lots of help with hazard perception, ensuring a pass first time around.

Part 2 was good fun, Paul made every lesson as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. Paul perfected every aspect of my driving to ensure I got through the test first time around.

I was extremely nervous about starting my Part 3 as I dreaded role-playing, but that need not have been the case as the sessions were so much fun and he kept things very light hearted whilst at the same time giving a 100% professional service. Nothing was too much trouble for Paul, whether it being down to going over and over the same PST or him giving up more of his time to help out as much as he possibly could, he made it clear that he was always at the other end of the phone or email for whatever the reason be. Paul made sure that by the time my Part 3 test date came I was 100% ready, even giving up 4 days of his time before my test date to ensure I was 100% confident, no stone was left unturned. Although it was hard work…….and boy does Paul make you work…… his sessions were full of laughter, jokes and sometimes even tears!!! But believe me, it certainly pays off in the end.

With Paul it is not about the money or the fact that this is his job – it is all about you – he wants you to pass your Part 3 with the highest possible grade – aiming for that Grade 6 not just the Grade 4 pass needed!!

I passed in September 2010 with a 5/5 grade – a grade I am over the moon with. I passed all 3 tests first time and completed them all within 7 months and could not have done this without all the help and support given by Paul.

Paul comes highly recommended and I know lots of driving instructors that would recommend Paul also. He has made me a safe driver for life and has shown me how to pass that skill onto the pupils I now teach.

When I was first thinking about becoming a driving instructor I was given Paul’s name as a recommendation and, since we have the same surname (no relation!), I decided to give him a ring. From that very first phone call Paul’s enthusiasm for his job came over loud and clear and carried on throughout our training.I passed my Part 1 and Part 2 first time without any problems but when it came to the Part 3 my confidence went through several meltdowns and there were a few times when I considered giving up. Only with Paul’s continuing and considerable help and encouragement, his willingness to give 110% plus his whole heart and soul, and his ability to turn tears into laughter(!!), did I finally manage to pass my Part 3 also at the first attempt. I think when that day finally came his smile was even wider than mine!I know I would never have got through my Part 3 and achieve my coveted ADI without Paul as my trainer. I will be forever grateful to him and hope that we will remain firm friends forever. I have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him to anybody considering becoming an instructor.

I STARTED MY TRIANNING WITH RED DRIVING SCHOOL BEFORE BEEN PUT IN TOUCH WITH PAUL.THE DIFFERENCE IN TRAINNING IS LIKE NIGHT AND DAY.PAUL IS SO KIND AND PATIENT AND WILL DO ANYTHING TO HELP YOU NO MATTER WHAT THAT IS.I NO THE ONLY REASON I PASSED MY TEST IS BECAUSE OF ALL THE HARD WORK AND FAITH PAUL SHOWED IN ME.IT WASNT EASY THIS COURSE AS I PASSED MY PART 3 ON THE FIFTH TIME OF ASKING (3 WITH RED 2 WITH PAUL )BUT PAUL ALWAYS BELIEVED IN ME AND NEVER LET ME GIVE UP.AT TIMES I THINK HE HAD MORE CONFIDENCE IN ME THEN I HAD IN MY SELF.IT STARTS AS A TRAINNER AND PUPIL RELATIONSHIP BUT AFTER THE FIRST FEW LESSONS PAUL BECOMES A REAL FRIEND AND HE REALLY CARES ABOUT ALL HIS PUPILS.ALL THE SESSIONS WERE MADE TO FEEL YOU HAD ACHIEVED SOMETHING EVEN WHEN SOME WERENT AS GOOD AS THEY HAD BEEN PREVIOUSLY.PAUL ALWAYS TOOK THE POSITIVES OUT OF ALL THE SESSIONS AND MADE ME FEEL THAT I COULD BE A DRIVING INSTRUCTOR.I FINALLY STARTED TO BELIVE IN MY SELF LIKE PAUL DID AND PASSED LAST WEEK AND CANT THANK PAUL ENOUGH.I NO OUR SESSIONS HAVE ENDED NOW WHICH IS QUITE SAD BUT I NO THAT PAUL WILL CONTIUE TO HELP ME IN MY NEW CAREER AS WITH PAUL YOU GETTHE FULL PACKAGE AS HE GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND WHAT YOU GET WITH ANYONE ELSE .
